Ghost Hunting with Yvette Fielding

We are thrilled that author and TV legend Yvette Fielding will be visiting school next month to read her brand new book 'Archie the Ghost Hunter' to our Year 7 students.

Yvette Fielding first appeared on our screens in the children’s favourite Seaview at the age of 13 and was snapped up by the producers of Blue Peter when she was just 17. She went on to win the SOS Award for the Most Popular Woman on television, beating esteemed nominees Cilla Black, Victoria Wood and Kylie Minogue. In 2017 she was voted the most popular Blue Peter presenter of all time in a poll by the Radio Times.

Following a career break to look after her two children, William and Mary, she set up Antix Productions with husband Karl, a cameraman and producer. Their flagship show, Most Haunted, was first aired in the UK in 2001 and has become a hi t around the world, particularly in the US, Canada, Australia and Asia.

An avid reader herself, Yvette was inspired to write Archie following a dream of a little boy and a fat dog and the constant requests from Most Haunted fans for something for children.

About the book

Archie stood up and slowly moved his hand towards his grandad’s chest. He thought he touched his jacket but couldn’t feel anything. He moved his hand further in but, again, felt nothing but icy cold. His whole hand then disappeared into his grandad’s torso. Archie gasped out loud. This was extraordinary.

Archie Nuttall believes he is a normal boy living in the incredibly uneventful fishing village of Bottomley-on-Sea with his lovely mum, his extremely eccentric gran and his gassy British bulldog, Watson. It’s only on his thirteenth birthday does he realise his life is anything but normal. Thrown into a world of ghosts and demons, Archie becomes a source of hope for all in his battle with evil and his quest to save the world. When the paranormal becomes normal, there’s no room for fear.

Archie the Ghost Hunter and the Rising is a spooky children's tale, with illustrations, and is the first book in the series.
