Merseyside Young Health and Life Scientists programme

The five students from year 9 were invited to participate in a 2 year widening participation programme at the University of Liverpool, along with students from schools around the north-west area.

The programme runs over two years until the students finish their GCSE's and they will participate in workshops, tours of the university and will attend lectures with students to learn about degrees in medicine, dentistry, psychology and veterinary science. This was their first trip ! The students studying medicine got to practise their stitching, psychology students practised questioning people and the veterinary science students were able to listen to the heart rates of lurcher puppies! All students can’t wait to return.
