Women in Construction

Torus Foundation has teamed up with the amazing Nobody Left Behind to deliver a Sport and Education routeway designed to support women in the Liverpool City Region into employment within the construction sector.

Nobody Left Behind, supported by local WBO Junior-Middleweight champion Natasha Jonas will deliver 6 one and a half hour HIIT training sessions which will help boost confidence, teamwork, communication and social skills, as well as work up a bit of a sweat!  Following this, the Torus Foundation, alongside the St Helens Chamber, will deliver its ever-popular Women In Construction routeway which will offer the practical and academic skills required to pursue work within the construction sector. Our maintenance division HMS will also be offering work placements for anyone that completes the course and we will be supporting all candidates into employment positions. 

There will be an Open Day on 9th Sept at 10:30am at Firefit Hub, Toxteth.

Nobody Left Behind HIIT camps will be held on 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th and 29th September at the Firefit Hub in Toxteth, sessions will last around one and half course

NLB poster HIIT A4 AW torus Training starts 3rd October with the location changing to the Torus Housing office in Clubmoor (Travel will be supported for those that attend the HIIT).

The WIC course will last around 10 days and candidates will receive practical experience with Bricklaying, Plastering, Tiling and Painting and Decorating. They will also receive qualifications in Manual Handling Level 2, Asbestos Awareness, Health and Safety within a Construction Environment and CSCS cards. Following the WIC, work placements with HMS are likely to start middle to late October.

Qualifying criteria is those aged between 19 - 25 (with limited places for 25-35) and they must live in the Liverpool City Region.
