Liverpool Counts Quality Mark - Silver Awardlcqm

We are proud to announce that Gateacre School has achieved the Liverpool Counts Quality Mark Silver Award.  This is a new  ‘quality mark’ to recognise excellent practice in schools as part of a drive to improve numeracy skills and raise attainment in maths at all levels in education. In doing so, we have successfully met the aims of the LCQM to:

• Raise standards in mathematics and numeracy with fun and joy of number at its heart
• To challenge perceptions and change attitudes towards number and mathematics
• To raise the profile of numeracy using activities, events and resources based on real-life
• To bring relevance to numeracy through problem solving demonstrating it is an essential skill

Parking Outside School

We would like to remind parents that we ask that you do not enter the school driveway or parking spaces to drop off and collect students before or after school as this causes congestion. This is creating hazards and obstructions, causing access issues and inconvenience to pedestrians, other road users and medical centre users. We ask that parents instead use the shopping centre car parks opposite or park further away in a safe, legal place for children to walk from/to.  Parking on the double yellow lines along Hedgefield Road and outside school is prohibited and may incur a Penalty Charge Notice and fines of £70 per instance as Liverpool City Council traffic control officers will be patrolling this area issuing fines to inconsiderate motorists.

Head Boy And Head Girl

Head boy and girl

Congratulations to Sixth Form students Luke Johnson and Vanessa Naddamba for being voted Head Boy and Head Girl of Gateacre School. They are both role models to others and excellent ambassadors for the school.

Safeguarding Warning - BIGO Live streaming appBigo Live harmful app

We would like to warn parents of the potential dangers of a live broadcasting website, BIGO LIVE, supposedly for over 17's.  Schools are reporting issues in school with some younger pupils using this website and receiving contacts encouraging them to engage in inappropriate behaviours online.
