Newsletter 30/09/2019

Dear Parents and Carers

With September drawing to a close, the summer months and the modicum of sunshine we enjoyed are now distant memories.  With those warm summer months now moving into cooler autumnal ones we are once again reminding students, through assemblies and registration time, that full school uniform which includes wearing a blazer around school will be reinforced by all colleagues.  This is very much part of the Gateacre Way; standards are to be maintained.

Part of that maintenance of standards will include monitoring of punctuality to school.  Since the start of term too many students have been late for school - 32 students have been late to school on 10 or more occasions.  The Pastoral Team and I will be meeting with the parents and carers of those students to emphasise the importance of high standards, which includes punctuality.

attendance every day matters

Thank you to all parents and carers who have supported the school in our drive to ensure that attendance remains a high priority.  Attendance is better than this time last year with a figure of 94.25%. Please continue to work with your child to ensure they attend today.

Remember Attend Today: Achieve Tomorrow!

Open Evening

Last Wednesday saw our best Open Evening yet.  This was the culmination of activities that highlight what the school has to offer future students.

Open Eve 2019 Photo Card

We had more parents and families take part than in previous years who came in to enjoy what we have to offer, here at Gateacre School.  Thank you to all parents, primary schools and students who worked with Gateacre staff to ensure that the evening was a great success as you can see from the video below and some pictures from the event.
