DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD: PUSHING BOUNDARIES
The Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award scheme is an incredible opportunity for all our Senior School students. The award encourages participants to push their personal boundaries, learn new skills, make new friends, and demonstrate a commitment to their chosen activities.

AWARDS
Bronze Award (Year 9): Students begin with the Bronze level, completing their expeditions in the beautiful Kent countryside during the Summer Term.
Silver Award (Year 10): Students can then progress to the Silver Award, where the practice expedition takes them to the scenic River Medway in Kent.
Gold Award (Year 11-12): The Gold Award is far more challenging. For their main expedition, students in Year 11 hike and camp in the New Forest National Park. At the Gold level, Year 12 and 13 students are challenged further, with a recent expedition seeing a group successfully bell-boating upstream on the River Thames for four days. To prepare for these expeditions, students undergo a series of training sessions that include orienteering exercises and route planning using sophisticated map-reading software available in the school library. Beyond the expedition, participants must also complete a period of voluntary service, take part in physical recreation, and develop a new skill.
