Our four Houses span the entire school, from Senior School to Sixth Form, and are named after [Provide the names or the source of the names]. This system encourages healthy competition and gives students a profound sense of community and belonging. Students remain in the same House throughout their time with us, allowing them to forge strong and lasting bonds with their teammates across all year groups.
Students have a wide range of opportunities to compete for their House throughout the year, including:
- The annual Drama and Public Speaking competitions.
- The House Music competition.
- The House 'Bake Off'.
- The hotly contested Sports Day.
House points are awarded on an individual basis to students who display excellence in collaboration, creativity, enthusiasm, independence, participation, resilience, and perseverance. A running total is announced each week, and the winning House is awarded the coveted House Cup at the end of the Summer Term.
The House system also provides excellent opportunities for student leadership. In Key Stage 3, students are grouped into "Buddy Groups" within their Houses. These groups work together on activities that promote bonding and friendships across year groups, such as making bunting for King Charles II's Coronation or investigating the Braille alphabet.
In Year 12, students can apply to become House leaders, taking a more prominent role in organising House activities and captaining House sports teams.
